Loving the Supreme Courts decision to take on gay
marriage
Johnathan Capehart
The Washington Post
The topic is same sex marriage and how the states are
not agreeing on allowing same sex marriage in certain
U.S. states.
1.
Marriage between partners of the same
sex (as recognized in some jurisdictions).
The Fourteenth Amendment addresses many aspects of
citizenship and the rights of citizens. The most
commonly used -- and frequently litigated -- phrase in
the amendment is "equal protection of the laws". But
Same-sex marriage is legal in all states, after the U.S.
Supreme Court decision on June 26, 2015.
This article takes the side of being for same sex
marriage, but still tells all sides of the topic. The author
Johnathan stated,My initial excitement Friday about the
Supreme Court finally agreeing to consider whether the
Constitution holds a right to same-sex marriage He
was all for it until things changed and different states
didnt agree on the same sex marriage.
What about the children the couples want to
have or maybe adopt, what can you say if they
struggle with gender or sexual disorders?
Before the laws changed, Virginia and a few other states
were against same sex marriages. They didnt like it and
werent trying to change anytime soon. Virginia barely
even wanted interracial marriages, so this was
extremely going against what they wanted. Over time
the law was passed and now its legal in all states.
