What is a Heart Healthy Diet?


Consume more of these foods:
Whole Grains- (7-8 servings every day)
Vegetables- (4-5 servings every day)
Fruits- (4-5 servings every day)
Water- (about 8 glasses every day)
Low-Fat Dairy- (2-3 servings every day)
Lean Protein- (2 servings or less every day)

Consume less of these foods look to the nutrition label:


Salt- (also called sodium, less than 2300mg every day)
Saturated Fat- (less than 10g every day)
Trans Fat- (as limited as possible)
Cholesterol- (less than 300mg every day)
