15 minutes
-introduce the topic (synonyms and antonyms)
-state why knowing synonyms and antonyms is important -how can increasing your vocabulary help with school tasks such as writing essays, projects and presentation

-10 words have been prepared
- divide the class into 2 groups - the teacher says the word, going clock-wise one student will say the antonym, the other give a sentence using the antonym, the next student will give the synonym and the next student will give a sentence using the synonym.
10 minutes
-divide the class into pairs
-with a list of words, students need to come up with synonyms and antonyms as a pair, the winner group which have the most accurate and biggest list, will receive price. (time 45 second per round) -talking about it, share the list and receiving feedback, the whole class will use the technology (computer or phone) to look up additional synonyms and antonyms for expanding the their list.

-an essay script (1-2 paragraphs) is given to each student.
-they will find the best academic synonym for the underlined words -then recreate the essay into their own words and use the new synonyms
5 minutes
-review the synonyms and antonyms of the academic words
-review the available resources in which synonyms and antonyms can be searched for.
