Concert Dress

In this middle school band, we wear white and black concert dress.
Girls: -a dressy white shirt or blouse
-black formal slacks (no jeans or sweatpants) OR
-black skirt with hemline longer than the knees
-black or neutral nylons
-black dress shoes
Boys: -button up shirt, white
-ties and bowties are optional
-formal black slacks, no jeans
-black socks
-black dress shoees
It is important for students to come dressed appropriately to every performance. If
you are unsure of what is appropriate, you may ask Ms. Hannon before the event
takes place. It is your responsibility to obtain appropriate concert dress.
Instrument and Locker Checkout
The school has a limited number of instruments for students to use. Before
checking out an instrument, the student and the parent must fill out and Instrument
Agreement form. This form, along with a $20 dollar yearly rental fee, must be
turned in before the instrument can be used. We have a limited number of
instruments, and more popular instruments may run out. I encourage you to check
out the local music store for instrument rentals and purchases.

Band lockers are available to all students at no cost. This allows the students to
safely store their instruments at school. To check out a locker, see the front school
office. They will provide you with a lock for $5, refundable at the end of the year.
Once you have obtained a lock, see Ms. Hannon for a locker assignment.

The school will not be responsible for any loss or damage of instruments.
Required materials
Students must come to class each day with their instrument, music, and a pencil.

Cleaning swabs specific to your instrument
Ligature (for read players)
BRASS
Valve/slide oil
Mouthpiece
Cleaning snake/cloth
PERCUSSION
At least two personal sets of drumsticks size 7A or 5A
