Part 1.
Explain the definition of a cloud: A visible collection of a large number of tiny
droplets of water. They often tell us if a storm is approaching.
Ask students what do the clouds look like when its about to rain.
3 basic types of clouds
1. Cirrusthin, wispy white clouds located very high in the sky
2. Cumulusround fluffy white clouds; seen on a nice day; look like cotton
balls
3. Stratusgray clouds in layers; low to the ground
Nimbus means a cloud the produces precipitation; usually put in front of the type of
cloud
Ex. Nimbostratus
