    Since2010BurntRanchElementarySchool(BRS)students,staffandcommunityhave
    lookedoutacrossthethelargegreenfieldoftheplaygroundandwonderedwithgenuine
    excitementaboutchangessoontocome.BRSisasmallruralK8schoolwith96students
    tuckedbeneathUnderwoodMountainalongtheTrinityRiver.WeareaK8schoolwith96
    students.In2010BRSstudentswereawarded$5,000throughtheGovernor'sCouncilon
    PhysicalEducationFitnessandSportsAward.Thismoneywasplannedtobeputtowardsthe
    constructionofatrack.However,duetounexpectedchangesinschoolstaffing,theprojectlost
    momentum.Thisprojecthasbeembracedwithnewenergybystudentsandcommunity
    membersvolunteeringtime,materialsandlabor.
    OnMay27th,BRSisholdingaJogAThonfundraisertosupporttheinstallationofour
    track.Studentsareaskingforpledgesforeachlapcompletedonourmappedmocktrack.As
    incentiveforstudents,wewouldliketoprovidebenchmarkrewardsaswellastwofinalrewards
    forthemostmoneyraisedandmostlapsrun.Weareaskingifyouwouldbewillingtodonateor
    contributetotheseincentiverewards.
    BurntRanchSchoolmaybeasmallschool,buttheeducationandextracurricular
    activitiesthatweprovideourstudentsequals,ifnotsurpasses,thatofsurroundingschools.
