Door frames
Made of any of the following sections:
Single angle iron
Double angle iron
T section
Channel section

Steel frames are generally fixed in prepared door opening.


Steel hold fasts or lugs are welded to the frame which are
inserted into chases cut in brick masonry.
Hinges of the shutters are either welded or screwed into the
frame.

and mild steel plates welded

welded in place of mild steel

strengthened with T or I
sections welded inside. Filled
with any insulating material.

Collapsible steel doors


neither hinge nor frame
required. Vertical channels are
braced with flat iron diagonals
(10-20mm wide and 5mm
thick). Shutters operate
between 2 iron rails of T
shape 1 fixed to lintel and 1
fixed to ground.

Rolling shutter doors
consists of a frame, a drum
and a shutter of thin steel
plates (0.6mm-1.2mm thick).
The frame has steel guides
and the diameter of the drum
varies according to size of the
door.

gear type (for larger doors
with worm gears, connecting rod
and winding handle or electric
motor driven)

core of the door consist of 2
or 3 layers of planed, tongued
and grooved seasoned teak or
plywood, encased in tight
