Solar Energy

By: Matthew McCue and

Daeshaun Broyles

Nonrenewable, Renewable, or Inexhaustible?

Solar Energy is an inexhaustible energy source.

-Inexhaustible means existing in abundance.

Solar Energy is used for

-day lighting, cooking, heating water or other fluids, distillation, disinfection, making saline water potable and
high temperature process heating.

-first time it was widely used was in the 1890s when solar water heaters were invented.

How it is made usable

-Solar Panels convert the suns rays into electricity by existing electrons in silicon cells using the
photons of light from the sun.

Solar Energy: Infrastructure Requirements

Telescopic legs.
20v/20A 4 wire.
Pure sine wire micro inverter.
Galvanized steel frame structure + legs.
easy hook anchors on each leg.
consists mostly of 345-499KV and 500-699KV Power lines.
For long distance transmission, 700-799KV and 1000KV lines are
needed.
1,000 watts of solar modules will require 100 sq ft of roof space

Safer, Cleaner, More Efficient Solar Energy

Nanotechnology (The science of working with atoms and molecules to build devices.)

Lead Selenium Nanocrystals enhance the chance of boosting the electrical current output
by releasing a second electron rather than heat.

Solar Energy (panels) is the cleanest solution for solving energy problems.

Thick materials in one direction for absorbing sunlight and thin materials in another
direction through which the charges can travel.

A South facing position will increase the solar objects potential.

Magnesium Chloride makes thin film solar cells less toxic yet they are the cheaper
alternative to solar panels.
