Computer Architecture Final Project

The final project for this section has two options. You can choose to design your own
computer by selecting the individual components that will work together or you can
choose to compare a minimum of 4 comparable devices and determine which device is
the best buy. Details for both options are listed below.

Option 1 Design your own computer

All components that are needed to create your own computer are listed below. You must
create a PowerPoint presentation that shows all of your components and lists the
important specification of each component. Your PowerPoint must also include the final
price for the computer. The components that must be included in the construction of
your computer are listed below.

Option 2: Comparing Similar Devices

For this option, you are going to research the specifications for current types of
technology. You will first need to decide what type of device you would like to research.
Options include smartphones, tablet pcs, laptops, or preassembled pcs. If you would like
to research other forms of technology, check with your teacher first. You will then need
to find at least 4 different products to compare and research similar specifications. You
will then create a PowerPoint that shows the results of your research. You must include in
your PowerPoint a chart that shows all of the relevant specifications for each of the
devices, a written description of the advantages and disadvantages of each of the
devices, a justification of your best buy, and a decision on what you would personally
buy.
Possible specifications that you might use are listed below:
Processor, RAM, Graphics Adapter, Graphics Memory, Storage Space, Expandable
Memory?, Operating System, Screen Size, Screen Resolution, Camera, Camera
Resolution, other special features.

Requirements for PowerPoint:

List & Picture of all products to be compared
Minimum of 10 Specifications to be compared
Quick reference chart that shows each spec for each device
Written Description of each specification, why it is important, and which device came out
on top
Written Justification of which device is the best buy
Written explanation of which device you would buy
