Department of Health Services

Ethernville District Hospital
900 Courtyard Dr.
Plankson, GA 79558

To whom it may concern:

My name is Heather Wiggs, and I am a floor nurse for our geriatric patients. Dominic Salazar, a
co-worker, and I have noticed that there is an increase in bed sores with all of our patients on our
floor. We have both done extensive research to help our hospital better serve our patients as well
as help both our patients and us save money on the cost of care and treatment.
Bed sores are injuries to the skin and underlying tissue from prolonged pressure. They most often
develop on skin that covers bony areas of the body where there is a lack of fatty tissues, such as
the heels, ankles, hips, and tailbone. These sores can develop quickly and are often difficult to
treat and range from simple to severe cases.
Dominic and I would love to set up a time to show you our presentation on the steps our hospital
needs to make to eliminate the increasing problem of bed sores and how much our hospital will
save in the long run. Please contact us and we can set up a date and time to show you our
research. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Heather Wiggs
