Focus : Listening and speaking


Theme : World Of Self, Family and Friends
Topic
: Meet My Family (UNIT 9)
Learning Standards :1.1.3 Able to listen to, say aloud and recite
rhymes or sing songs with guidance , 1.2.1 Able to participate in daily conversations:
(b) introduce family members
Objective : By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to :
1. introduce themselves and their family members with guidance
2. spell the name of the family members in word forms (LBI : say the first letter)
3. name the pictures with correct family members.
Activities:
1 Teacher shows a lyric of I Love My Family
2 Pupils sing the song I Love My Family with the tune of The Farmer in The Dell.
3 Teacher selects a few pupils to sing the song according to their groups.
4 Teacher asks pupils take turn to become father, mother, brother and sister.
5 Teacher asks pupils to introduce themselves.
6 Teacher assists pupils to do their own family tree.
7 Teacher asks pupils to sing the song again.

2.2.3 Able to read and understand sentences (3-5 words) in linear and non-linear texts with guidance
Objective : By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to :
1. complete letters to form words and pronounce it correctly.
2. blend phonemes and segment words with guidance.
3. Articulate initial, medial and final sounds with guidance. (LBI: letters)
Activities:
1 Teacher asks pupils to sing the song I Love My Family.
2) Teacher highlights and shows the word cards Tom Dog Pot and Got.
3) Teacher teaches pupils the phonemes /p/,/o/,/m/,/g/ ,/d/ and /t/ using the letters cards.
4) Teacher introduces new words that related to the sounds.

1 Teacher asks pupils to sing the song I Love My Family.
2) Teacher pronounce the words and ask pupils to write.
3) Teacher asks pupils to copy the correct words by solving the puzzle. to enjoy and appreciate
rhymes, poems
and sounds through performance.
4) Teacher asks pupils recognise the picture and write the correct words.

:By the end of the lesson, pupils should be
able to enjoy and appreciate rhymes, poems and sounds
through performance.
Activities:
1 Teacher asks pupils to sing the song I Love My Family.
2) Teacher gets some family photograph from pupils.
3) Teacher ask pupils to paste a photograph on coloured paper.
4) Teacher assist pupils to cut out the photograph.
5) Teacher asks pupils to tie a string to the photograph.
6) Teacher demonstrate how to tie it to a clothes hanger.
Teaching Aids :
Lyric of I Love My Family, photo, clothes hanger, glue ang string.
