UNIT: Mathematics
NAME: Circle, Circumference, and Diameter.
TEK:

Math Grade 7 PAP

7.5 (B) describe

as the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter.

7.9 (B) determine the circumference and area of circles.

APPROX. TIME: 30 minutes to teach lesson

MATERIALS: Presentation in PowerPoint format.

HOOK: Ask a question

OBJECTIVE: SWBAT describe and determine the ratio of the circumference and
area of a circle..
RELEVANCY: Students should be able to solve geometry problems to help them
in the Math portion of the STAAR.
INSTRUCTIONAL INPUT: Discussion about the process to find area and
circumference..

MODELING: Explain the process, and steps to solve the problem.

GUIDED PRACTICE: Review the definitions and steps by going through the
presentation and a list of examples with the students while they take notes.
INDEPENDENT PRACTICE: Students would solve the work problems
individually or in pairs.
ASSESSMENT: Have the students solve the work problems individually or in
pairs. Once they finish their work, the correct answer will be shown to the students for
them to compare and see what steps should have followed, or how can they solve other
work problems.
CLOSURE: Repeat and review the formulas needed to find the circumference,
area and diameter of a circle.
