PROJECTSYNOPSISGUIDELINE
Projectsynopsisprovidesanoutlineoftheprojectworktobeundertakenbythecandidate.Onceyouhaveselected
asuitabletopic(relatedtoyourspecialisationarea),definedtheproblemsandoutlinedthemannerinwhichthe

projectstudyistobeconducted,thenextstepistopreparetheprojectsynopsis.Thissynopsisshouldbesubmitted
ONLINEtoIMTCDL,Ghaziabad,throughyourStudentInformationSystem(SIS)login,forapprovalbeforeyou
beginworkingontheProject.ThesynopsiswillbescrutinizedbythefacultyofIMTCDLtoensurethatitfollowsthe
guidelines.EvaluatedprojectsynopsiswillbeavailableinyourSISLogin.ItisadvisedthatyousubmityourSynopsis
asearlyaspossiblesothatyoucanresubmitthesamewithmodifications,ifitisrejected,withinthetimelines
mentioned.

CompanyProfile:Youhavetochooseanorganisationforyourprojectwork.Thisshouldpreferablybeyourownor
anyotherorganisationinthevicinity.Inanycase,itwouldbeonewhereyouhaveaccesstoinformationand
opportunitytodiscussyourideasandviewswiththeexecutivesworkingthere.Theprojectoutlineandits
formulationmustbefreelydiscussedwiththosewhoareresponsibleforsimilaractivitiesintheorganisationyou
haveselectedforyourprojectwork.

StatementabouttheproblemHavingtakenyourfirststepitisimportantthatyoudefinetheproblemcorrectly.
Problemdefinitionhastobeclearintermsofnature,sizeandscopeoftheproject.Thesehavetobestatedinterms
whicharequitetangibleandspecific.

ObjectivesandscopeofthestudyReasonsforselectingthetopichavetobeexplainedalong
withtheapplicabilityorusefulnessoftheprojectidea.Whatcontributiontheprojectcanmakein
theselectedorganizationorinsimilarsituationsshouldbeidentifiedandstated.

MethodologyItisnecessarytoexplainthecriteriaforselectionofsamplesizeifsurveyistobeundertaken.
Statisticalmethodsthatwouldbeusedforthesameshouldbementioned.Methodsthatwouldbeusedfor

5.IncaseyouwanttoclarifyanydoubtsrelatedtothetopicofyourProjectWork,youcanemailyourqueriestothe
concernedfacultywhosenameandemailidismentionedattheendofyourevaluatedsynopsis.

6.IncasethefinalcommentofevaluatedsynopsisisRejectedyouhavetoresubmitthesynopsis(aftermodifying
it)withinthetimelineofthatsemesterandifthetimelineisovertheninthenextsemester.

thecollectionofdata,facilitiesforinterviewsorreferencestorecords,inconnectionwithyourprojectyou
shouldacknowledgethisunderthetitleacknowledgments.

MainReport:Yourmainreportshouldfollowthechapterschemeyouhadindicatedinyoursynopsis.

GENERALLYTHESEQUENTIALPRESENTATIONSHOULDBEASFOLLOWS:
ChapterI:IntroductionoftheProblem:Thischaptershouldprovideabackgroundoftheproblem,andwhatis
proposedtobeinvestigated.Thesignificanceoftheproblem,theobjectivesandthescopeofthestudyandthe
contributionandimpactyourstudywillmakeshouldbeelaborated.Abriefdescriptionoftheorganisationwhere
youhaveconductedtheprojectshouldbeprovided.

ChapterII:TheoreticalPerspective:Thischaptershouldgiveanoverviewofthetheoreticalconceptsrelatedtothe
problemunderstudy.Youshouldrefertothecurrentstatusofresearchintheareaandmajorfindingsthereof.
Theseshouldbringoutthenecessityforastudyofthekindyouhaveundertakenandtheapproachyouintendto
follow.

ChapterIII:Methodology:Thischaptershoulddescribeindetailthestepsfollowedincompletingthestudy.Ifyou
havedoneasamplesurvey,thebasisofsampling,itssizeetc.shouldbediscussed.Thesourcesofprimaryand
secondarydatamustbestatedandthewayyouhaveprocessedthedatashouldbeelaborated.
