Learning Session Plan

Session title

Childrens Rights
To educate and empower children by bringing to light their rights and what they deserve by law.

Aim

Learning objectives

1. Students will be able to identify laws that have to do with


childrens rights.
2. Students will be able to list out 5 basic rights.
3. Students will be able to explain clearly actions that should be
taken if their rights are revoked or breached.

Teachers Activity

1. The teacher will begin the class by


asking the students to imagine several
scenarios in which their rights are
breached or revoked.
2. Next, the teacher will introduce the
concept of Childrens Right and explain
how it came about.
3. For the class activity, the teacher will
divide the students into groups and
explain the activity.
4. The teacher will facilitate the class
activity and conclude the class with a
written assignment.

Individual/Small Group Activity

1. The students will be divided into groups


of 4, and in each group, they will be
asked to draw a map of their community.
2. For example, they will be asked to list
out the facilities and buildings in their
community.
3. After they have drawn the map, they will
be asked to discuss amongst
themselves the facilities provided by
their community and if they rights are
fulfilled.
4. They will have to present their maps to
the class, along with suggestions on
how to improve their communities so
that their rights are catered to.
