bmaokhamphion@unm.edu May 12, 2016 Presbyterian Rust Medical Center 2400 Unser Blvd SE Rio Rancho, NM 87124 Dear Dr. Federici, I am Brandy Maokhamphiou a freshman, pre-med student from the reputed University of New Mexico. I recently was recommended to you by the head of hospice at Presbyterian, Melanie Vanacken. She informed me that you take students as interns. I believe that my previous job experiences qualify me as a candidate. I have Biology as well as Latin American Studies as my majors. My background knowledge and education in the sciences, as well as culturally will benefit your program. As well as studying and diversifying myself, I am a volunteer at Presbyterian. I volunteer in cardiac and ER. I have previous experience involving myself in the medical field. I possess valuable skills that would be an asset to your team. As a volunteer member at Presbyterian I have to work with other members. By doing so I have developed work ethics. Not only that, but being a part of the medical field I understand the amount of time and work I will be having to put in. I will already be accustomed to the demanding nature of being involved within this field. Please review my document to understand any suitable positions that I may apply for. My preferred field of work would be in cardiac surgery or Cath lab, as I take the most interest in these areas. I hope to meet you personally and discuss the contributions that I can make in your department as an intern. I have attached a copy of my resume and will provide you will all due references on request. I look forward to meeting you in person and taking about the internship opportunity at length. You can contact me through phone (505)908-9060 or email bmaokhamphion@unm.edu. Yours faithfully, Brandy Maokhamphiou
