Essential Question: Why is early breast cancer detection important?
Working Thesis: Early breast cancer detection can prevent the severity of the cancer, shorten the
time span of the treatment, and decrease the fatality rate.

up the idea that taking action earlier is the best way to prevent breast cancer from spreading or
getting worse. It emphasizes mammograms are especially important because in most cases this
form of cancer cannot be detected in other ways. This article also explains the different types of
breast cancer and how each one affects women. It gives information about how the cancer forms
and spreads if not dealt with early on in its developing stages. This article will help to support
and stress how early detection can decrease the fatality rate of breast cancer.

The article Early Detection helps Fight Cancer stresses that early detection is
always the best way to avoid later suffering and serious consequences. It suggests that the lack of
awareness and support to have annual mammograms and check-ups are the root causes to the
severity of the cancer in so many women. The article briefly discusses how breast cancer is a
curable disease provided that it is detected and treated early. Without the early detection women
are more valuable to the cancer and have a higher chance of the cancer spreading thus becoming
worse. Another main topic discussed is the importance of age and when women should start
going to see their Oncologist. This article is relevant to the research because it supports my
position that early breast cancer detection can prevent the severity of the cancer.

says to survive cancer, women must keep to their medicine and take their chemotherapy and
radiotherapy. It explains that taking care of detection early can speed up the process of treatment.
The article argues that catching breast cancer early means that the treatment process is not as
long and stressful. With a smaller amount to handle the treatment can work faster and have
patience recovering and cured way before those women who find breast cancer when it has had
time to become larger and spread. This article will support my position on how early detection of
breast cancer can shorten the time span of the treatment.
