Sectional views
Sectional views are used to expose the internal surfaces of an object that would otherwise be hidden from
direct view. Sectional views greatly add to the clarity of the drawing because they DO NOT CONTAIN ANY
HIDDEN LINES.
Page I of IV
draw section lines in such a way that they become parallel to any surface in the object. If the section lines
drawn at 45 degrees become parallel to any surface in the object, the angle should be changed to 30 degrees
or 60 degrees.
Labeling the cutting planes is very important in case when more than one sectional views of the object are
drawn.
