Speaking in Tongues?
Our tradition may not be what most
would call Pentecostal, but
on Pentecost, (May 15th)
even Episcopalians speak in tongues.
As we did last year, parts of our liturgy
will be
bilingual Spanish/English, and we hope to
have a goodly assortment of non-English voices to
read the Pentecost story.
If your family or native language is something other
than English, and you would be willing to read a
verse or two of the scripture, please let Pastor Ginna
or the church office know by Sunday, May 8th.

Fiesta de Pentecosts
Theres still
time to sign up
for our Pentecost Fiesta, Sunday, May 15th!
Please
see
Barbara Patricio
during
coffee
hour Fellowship
to sign up for
any of these items:
Lettuce
Tomatoes
Beans
Rice
Chips
Salsa
Peppers (for those who like it hot!)
Or any other sides you want
to share. Taco meat, cheese, and
tortillas are already covered.
We also need extra hands to
decorate on Saturday, and to setup or clean-up on Sunday. More
hands mean more fun and faster
done!
Thank you,
The Fellowship Committee

Got Confirmation ?
Confirmation marks the point in the Christian
journey at which you affirm the faith into which you
have been baptized and your intention to live a life of
committed discipleship. This affirmation is confirmed
through prayer and the laying on of hands by the confirming bishop. The Church also asks God to give you
power through the Holy Spirit to enable you to live in
the way of Jesus.

Susan Haynes: 760-941-9424fyrqwyr@gmail.com

Additonal Chalice Bearers: Karen Hunter, Kelly Petersen

If you were previously confirmed, but have

experienced a renewal of faith and a desire to renew
your Christian commitment, or you have recently returned from a time of religious inactivity to an active
practice of faith, you may also wish to reaffirm your
baptismal vows, and receive the strengthening prayers
of the Bishop and the Church.
If you were already confirmed in another
denomination, you may affirm your baptismal covenant
before the Bishop and be formally received into the
fellowship of the Episcopal Church and the Anglican
Communion.
If you are interested in being confirmed, received
into the Episcopal Church from another denomination, or renewing your Baptismal vows when Bishop
Mathes visits All Saints on June 26th, please let
Pastor Ginna or the Church Office know within the
next 2 weeks.

We had our first

Assembly Party on
April 10. In less than
20 minutes we filled
40 bags! Wow! Thank you, everyone, for your help!
Blessings in a Bag are sack lunches for the homeless, containing items that do not need to be cooked
or refrigerated. We have been giving out about 40
bags a month. Once all of us are in the habit of giving
out bags, well need more bags each month. This is an
ongoing All Saints church outreach.
What do you do with a Blessing in a Bag? Keep a
couple in your car and hand them out when you see
someone who needs a sack lunch. Also, people stop by
the Church office for them. There will be already-made
bags in the back of the church and in the parish hall
each Sunday.
We will have Bag Assembly Parties a once a month
on the third Sunday of the month, at coffee hour. The
next one will be May 15.
Every Sunday, in the parish hall, we will have lists
of what is needed for the next Assembly Party. Pick up
a card for what you want to bring and sign on the list
so we know who is bringing what. You can bring what
youve purchased any Sunday and Mimi will collect it.
Mimi will need a couple of people to help organize
the food on Saturday before the Assembly Party. It's
the organizing that makes everything flow smoothly.
Let Mimi know if you are willing to join her on a Saturday. Its easy and fun.
