Words to know!
Wet Clay:clay body that has water moisture, usually
plastic
Leather Hard:dried body of clay, still has enough
moisture to be worked with
Bone Dry: body with no moisture
Greenware:any unfired pottery
Bisqueware:pottery that has gone through first firing
Glazeware:Pottery that has gone through a glaze fire
(2nd firing)

Tooth: the density of a clay body given by grog


Fat:clay body that is very plastic
Plastic:clay body that is malleable, doesn't crack
Short:clay body that is not plastic
Earthenware:low fired ceramic
Stoneware:high fired ceramic, has been vitrified
Kiln:chamber used to fire ceramic
Cone:measurement of heat when firing ceramic
Glaze: coat of glass substance fused to ceramic
piece, color given by metal oxide

-To homogenize the clay
-To remove impurities
-To remove air bubbles
