Bent in the Darkness

Darker than the colorless beards of old men;

The sky was gloomier than ever before.
I was all-alone, with no one to rely on,
It was time for me to be independent.
Just me and nature on my side.
My whole life I had been had been dependent on others;
Despite this, I knew I would survive if I held on to my hope
No optimism meant no survival.
I still do think of old
But my mind needs to turn anew.
I will not succumb,
I will be the strongest
All by myself
For that be all I need;
To be independent.
