Conversation Hearts

I chose to write Be Mine on my heart. My heart was suppose to be from

Gatsby to Daisy. I wrote Be Mine because Gatsby was trying to get Daisy to be his
like she was in the past. Fitzgerald wrote He wants to know, continued Jordan,

if youll invite Daisy to your house some afternoon and then let him come
over. (page 78) This is one example of how Gatsby was trying to get back
with Daisy. I chose the color purple for my heart because the color purple
represents the past and the only thing that Gatsby wants to do is live in the
past. Fitzgerald wrote, Tell em all Daisys change her mine. Say: Daisys
change her mine!. (page 76) This is showing that Daisy was in love with
Gatsby and that they both wanted to go back to the past.

I chose the message I kind of like you because Nick doesnt really
know if hes into Jordan or not. I chose the color pink because that is the color
of love. I chose the relationship between Jordan and Nick because they dont
know if they are a thing throughout the story. I wasnt actually in love, but I
felt a sort of tender curiosity (Fitzgerald 57). Her gray, sun strained eyes
stared straight ahead, but she had deliberately shifted our relations, and for a
moment I thought I loved her (Fitzgerald 58).

My heart said Dont Go It is from Tom to Daisy and it is green
because of how jealous he is because of Daisy and Gatsbys relationship.
Daisy, thats all over now, he said earnestly. It doesnt matter any more.
Just tell him the truth that you never loved him and its all wiped out
forever(Fitzgerald 132). Gatsby even wants Daisy to say that she never
loved him and that would mean that their marriage was not for love. This is a
lot to ask and Tom is worried about losing his wife and his girlfriend because
she is moving and Daisy loves Gatsby. This conversation shows how worried
and jealous Tom is, Daisys leaving you.
Nonsense.
I am though, She said with a visible effort(Fitzgerald 133).
Tom is worried about daisy leaving even if he wont admit it. Daisy is leaving
and he is jealous of Gatsby because he has won her love.

I chose this message because this signifies Myrtle and Toms
passionate affair with one another. In the book, Tom didnt really attempt to
hide the affair, but the tea in the message signifies that they wont in fact
be having tea, but they will be continuing their affair. The color red signifies
fiery passion and sexuality, which Tom and Myrtle share in which Daisy and
Tom do not share. Myrtle pulled her chair close to mine, and suddenly her
warm breath poured over me the story of her first meeting with Tom.
(Fitzgerald 36) Myrtle is speaking about the first time she met Tom. This is not
something that she should do if they were just friends. This signifies that they
have something more, which the color red. Sitting on Toms lap Mrs. Wilson

called up several people on the telephone (Fitzgerald 29). This signifies that
there is some tension between these two as Myrtle is sitting in his lap. This
valentine message is something that these two could have used if they were
trying to be more secretive about their affair.
