COURSE CODE: 131905
TIME: 3 HOURS

MAXIMUM MARKS: 100

PART A
ANSWER ANY FIVE QUESTIONS

(5 x 4 =20)

1 Define Data warehouse. Explain the characteristics of Data warehouse.

2 Describe about the server function in detail.
3 Explain advanced DBMS features in detail.
4 What is data mining? Explain the motivation behind Data mining.

PART C
CASE STUDY-COMPULSORY

(1 x 16 = 16)

13. The input to the system is a 96 X 72 pixels 8-bit gray-scale image containing a human face.
The outputs are 4 numbers. Each number represents a facial expression (neutral, smile, angry,
scream). The number is 1 if that facial expression is present and 0 otherwise. There are many
different facial expressions, but I only choose four of them. The facial expressions chosen are
representative because they can tell the emotions without much ambiguity.

Besides, the

expressions are quite different from each other. Name and explain with its algorithm the type of
neural network that is best suited for the above said problem.
