PASSIVE VOICE

Apassiva-se um verbo antepondo-lhe o auxiliar to be no tempo


e pessoa requeridos, mais o particpio passado do verbo principal
( 3 coluna das leading forms). Assim temos, por exemplo:
Present Is done (sing.) feito
Are done (plur.) so feitos
Past was done foi feito
Were done foram feitos
A voz passiva faz-se do seguinte modo:
O Complemento Directo passa a Sujeito;
O Predicado mantm-se, apassivado;( BE + 3 Coluna do
verbo principal)
O Sujeito passa a Agente da Passiva ( com by)
Ou seja:
V.Activa I study my lesson.
V. Passiva My lesson is studied by me.
V.A. I study my lessons.
V.P. My lessons are studied by me.
V.A. I studied my lesson.
V.P. My lesson was studied by me.
V.A. She studied her lessons.
V.P. Her lessons were studied by her.

Present Continuous : Im writing a letter / A letter is being


written by
She is singing a song/ A song is being sung by her
Present Perfect : Mary has done the exercises / The exercises
have been done by her.
Present perfect Continuous: I have been eating crabs/ Crabs
have been being eaten.
Future We will drink lots of milk ./ Lots of milk will be drunk by
us.
Past Continuous He was telling a lie. / A lie was being told by
him.
Past Perfect- Peter had painted a wall / a wall had been painted
