1950s
Have you ever wondered what types of music they played in
the 1950s? Well if you did you are about to find out. During the
1950s there was many types of music such as the very beginning
of rock and roll. Also country was popular along with traditional
pop.
First we are going to talk about rock and roll. Rock and roll
became popular in the mid to late 1950s. One of the first rock
and roll artists was Elvis Presley. Later he got the nick name the
king of rock and roll. There were many other rock and roll artists
such as Chuck Berry and Jerry Lee Lewis.
Another type of music is Country. One of the most famous
country singers during the 1950s and one of the most famous
country singers of all time is Johnny Cash. He became very
popular and one of his most famous songs is through the ring of
fire. Also Hank Williams was a popular country artist during the
1950s

Also we are going to discuss traditional pop. In traditional pop one


of the most famous artists was Nate King Cole. Another famous
pop artist was Dean Martian.
Finally, we will go over how music of the 1950s that
reflected what was happing around the world. Music reflected off
the 1950s. It helped of what was happing. It helped keep society

together. The most common music that was about society was
country.

In rock and roll you learned about Elvis Presley. In country you
learned about Johnny cash. And in traditional pop you learned
