Organizing the drill:

Diagram A

Place four goals in a practice

area measuring 30m long by
75m wide.
Place two teams consisting of 10
players each on the practice
field.
Place four 2m wide goals on the
edge of the field as shown in
Diagram A.
The ball is placed on the halfway
line.

Practising the drill:

Diagram B

The object is to score goals in

the oppositions half of the field.

Team X move the ball to the right

hand side of the field and try to
penetrate Os defence.
The rest of the team must adjust
according to the position of the
ball.
The attacking team must support
each other when changing the
point of attack. (Not shown in
diagram.)
Diagram C

Team X move the ball down the

right of the field and attempt a
shot at goal.
Watch how the rest of the players move and shift according to
the position of the ball.

The drill restarts if the ball goes

out or a goal is scored.

Coachs Note
The practice area is very compact.
Ensure players are limited to twotouch for quick movement and
distribution of the ball.
Communication is vital in this drill,
players need to know if they can
turn or play the way they face.
The aim of this drill is to move
the ball quickly and accurately in
the confined area, which mirrors
a game situation when both
teams press high up in the middle of the field.
