MANILA, Philippines Manny Pacquiao has several bills he hopes to file once
he is officially a member of the Philippine Senate.
The retired boxer is assured of a seat in the Upper House, as he is currently
seventh in the Senatorial race with 15,592,240 votes, according to the partial
and unofficial results from the Comelec Transparency Server.
"Marami tayong gustong ipasa, i-file, at saka aksyunan kaagad na mga
problema," Pacquiao told Rean Hacosta of ABS-CBN News during his
mother's 67th birthday party in General Santos City.
"Kahirapan, kailangan ma-aksyunan agad," he added.
One bill that Pacquiao will push hard for is providing free education from
elementary to college for those who cannot afford it.
"'Yung pino-propose natin na libreng education from elementary to college sa
mga pamilya na hindi talaga makapag-paaral dapat may ganoon," he said.
"Para walang dahilan ang mga bata na hindi makapag-aral."
