Dear Mr. Vu:

Mr. Gaur, my recent classmate in English 115, told me about the Co-ed Business Fraternity,
Alpha Kappa Psi, which promises to offer the opportunity to gain insight and knowledge in the
business world. I chose this Fraternity particularly due to the fact that I saw Mr. Gaur grow
throughout pledge process. He became more approachable and more professional through his
public speaking and interactions with people. He was once a shy and introverted, but now he is a
confident and competent individual. I am looking to join the Fraternity as a pledge, in hopes to
gain the knowledge and experience in the professional world. Alumnis such as J.W. Marriot and
Ronald Reagan are one of many notable Alumnis of Alpha Kappa Psi.
Recently during the Winter Break from November 2015-December 2015, I had my first
internship at Collective Lifestyle in Northridge, CA. I was the marketing intern of the Collective
Lifestyle website, in which I improved the companys SEOs and made the links for the websites
user-friendly. This gave me the opportunity to learn the different ways of advertising a company
through social media and Google.
During my first semester in fall of 2015, I successfully completed my course in Communications
151, where I received an A as a grade. Through that semester I gained the knowledge and basic
information I needed in order to conduct a speech. It has made me more confident in my abilities
and has taught me the importance of public speech in the world we live in today. The enclosed
resume gives details of my additional strengths and previous experiences.
I would very much appreciate the opportunity to join Alpha Kappa Psi in hopes of gaining
