I am writing to you on behalf of Catherine DAgostino. I have had Catherine in three courses at SUNY Oneonta. Catherine was a student in my Integrating Educational Technology, Social Studies Methods, and is my student now in Student Teaching Seminar. During our time together I worked close with Catherine and I observed many positive attributes as a student. Catherine completed 50 hours of participation hours where she taught five lessons. She has natural talents as an educator. She planned creative lessons such as technology-based lessons, and writing assignments. She planned student-centered lessons that focused on real-world examples to inspire a sense of wonderment in the students. Catherine plans her lessons meticulously. She is very mindful of the standards when planning instruction. She consistently plans solid lessons that align with the K-12 Social Studies Framework. She has demonstrated a sound content knowledge base and plans assessments that accurately measure students performance. Currently Catherine is teaching Global 9 Honors and seems to enjoy the challenge of differentiating instruction for advanced learners. In Catherines first student teaching placement she taught 8th grade and was able to differentiate instruction for struggling earners. Catherine would like to further her education to help solidify her career as a practitioner of education. I believe she will be a great success, and recommend her for any endeavor she pursues without reservation.
