Hebrews 12:1

Therefore, since we have so

great a cloud of witnesses
surrounding us, let us lay
aside every encumbrance
and the sin which so easily
entangles us, and let us run
with endurance the race that
is set before us.

implementing of it went well.

well for our Home Assignment year.
* We have only 4 weeks of school left.
We only have 43 days left in Germany.

Our Last Months in a Nutshell

Our BFA girls basketball team finished in 1st place of the Division II
championships, and our guys finished 2nd. Congratulations to our teams! It
was neat to hear the coaches comment that they had so many questions about
- why are your kids different? Conversations were then able to be had about
Christ and why they are different. Jesus got the Division II stage through our
kids - so cool!
Our MS Production of Beauty & the Beast went REALLY well! The
students did such a good job and so did Katies staff!
Our annual Music Festival went very well!
One of the members of the Kandern City Band, Alex, directs the Kandern
youth band. He asked me (Katie) if I wanted to do a joint concert together
this Spring. I said yes. We had several group practices and had our concert on
April 30th. It went really well and we are hoping to repeat this in the future!
The Performing Arts Faculty performed on handbells at the BFA Talent
Show last week. Many students thought that we were the best performance. I
wonder if they would have said the same if we were not dressed in punk
attire? :)
We took our annual music ensemble trip to Europa Park yesterday. It is one
of those things that builds community and offers a different avenue for
fellowship. They had fun!
We have now subbed for the dorm parents at Maugenhard Dorm for the last
time this school year. It was a lot of fun this year, and it was great getting to
know the guys better and be part of their lives in that way!
The IT department has now been merged with all of TeachBeyond
Germany. This means that Joshs role will now also include directly
supporting and helping out a number of outreach ministries into the German
community. Everything from English Camps, to Audio Bible recordings, to
Christian counseling services, to refugee ministries, and more, will all get
their IT Support from Josh and his team
We are leaving Germany on June 28th. We need to be in the states for 366
days in order to reset our visas (for tax reasons). We are planning to see and
visit with as many people as we can. We need to raise support before we
return, but we see this as something that God actually does to confirm His
continued calling for us at BFA. So we are looking forward to seeing Him
work, lead and guide this year as we meet with many of you and many
churches.
With that, you might notice that we are currently stating our support level is
at 11%. We are choosing to reset our count, and not assume that any of you
are going to support us for another term without you saying that you will. So
right now, we have 11% confirmed for our next 5 year term. Please let us
know if you also plan to continue/begin partnering with us financially for our
next 5-year term.

Local Culture
We have been informed that
Kandern is opening its city
doors to 100 refugees in May.
Our church is partnering up an
English family, a German
family with each refugee
family. Pray for us, as we
will only have a short time
to be a part of this, but we
want to make a
difference.

Joshs Highlight
I am working this weekend to
implement the big project Ive
been working on all year - the
dream project Ive had for about
4 years now! For most of the year,
I didnt expect to be able to be
present for its implementation, so
Im both nervous and excited to be
implementing it now.
Were working hard this weekend
and the start of next week to rebuild the entire computer network
from scratch. I am very eager to
see how much of a difference it
really
makes in the day-to-day use.

Katies Highlight
I had the privilege to help a friend
of mine, Tran, as she is in training
to be a nurse. She asked me to
come and play the piano, be the
musician for a part of her special
program she needed to organize at
a near by nursing home. I was
happy to help. The theme of her
program was winter. In some of my
piano noodling, I added Jesus
Loves Me, As the Deer,
Amazing Grace, etc. But the one
that one particular resident lady
was continuing to sing was
You are my Sunshine, My only
Sunshineduring a winter
program. Oh dear!

Circle of Friends
We are in the middle of good-
byes and see you laters as we
leave relationships we are normally
surrounded with for the year. This
includes our colleagues, our students,
our German friends, and our Kandern
music groups. Some students will
graduate by the time we return and
some BFA staff we will miss for
two years because they will
be on their HMAs when
we return. : (
