Solar Panel Proposal

Interested in buying a solar panel? Want free energy? Well then solar panels are the thing
for you! For a house that uses 730.15 kwH per month it would only take 18.5 years to pay off
and being to have free energy. If you are planning on staying in the house for a long time, then
this is a very smart investment.
Battery is a Crown 48UDC 860 Battery Bank costing $4,960
Charger is a magnum energy PT-100 charge controller costing
$799.20
Inverter is a magnum energy M5448PAE Inverter costing $2,239
Topoint JTM190-72M silver Moto solar panel $160
Microinverters were enphase M215-60-2LL-S33-IG Microinverter
$138
$2,000 installation fee to install the panels
To figure out amount of panels
730.15 kWh/ 30 days (average in a month) x 1000 = 24,338.333 Wh per day / 4.5 sun hours in a
day= $5,408.51/ 190 (number of watts this specific solar panel produces)= 28.46 panels rounded
to 29
Off-grid
$2,000 for the installation + $4,640 for the panels (29x $160) + $2,238 for the micro Inverter
($138 x 29) + $800 For a charger + $4,960 for the battery= $14,960 in off-grid
222 Months= 18 and a half years
On-grid
$6,000 ($20 a month x 25 months) + $2,000 installation fee + $4,640 for the panels ($160 x 29)
+ $4,002 = $16,642 for on-grid
Overall, it would be much cheaper for the off-grid, yet it would be an 18 and a half years until
you see a payback. If your house average would also have to stay 730.15 kWH per month on
average, this is the amount it would cost for the solar panels. Overall, they are probably not a
very wise investment but would still be a good idea if you plan to live in the house fpr more than
20 years and want to live a green living way.
