A tragic hero of Antigone, between two of the main characters in story Creon and
Antigone. Antigone one of the daughters of Zeus, Creon the king of a city, one immortal the
other a mortal man. The tragic hero starts in the palace of Thebes, the Oedipus, Eteocles and
Polynices agreed to share their fathers kingdom, but in the end Polynices and Eteocles fought
each other till both died. Then the brother of Oedipus queen takes over the kingdom. Thats
where it all takes place for the tragic hero. Creon is the tragic hero in the story mostly because of
what he does though out the story, all of the mistakes he does and what he should have done
instead.
Creon the tragic hero of the story, he made many different mistakes though out the story
that make him the tragic hero. One of his biggest mistake is that he was stubborn and he didnt
listen to anyone. One example is when he doesnt listen to Tiresias when he said The city is sick
because of your counsel You certainly seem full of this disease. Tiresias is basically telling
Creon that he is a horrible ruler and that everyone that follow he will lead them to death. Also
that mistake of not listening to him and other people lean to his downfall.
Many people would agree that Antigone should be the tragic hero because of the mistakes
she did in the story. Yes, she did do many mistakes like burying her brother and then dying
because of it but Creon did many more and mostly it was because he never listened to other
people and their suggestions or their warnings. Antigone did break the law that the king made but
her mistakes werent as bad as Creons mistakes.

your lie that everything will change for the worst. As in Creons life his biggest mistake was to
make a law, and that law was not to bury a specific person. everyone must leave him
unburied The person was none other than Polynices son of Oedipus, because of that one law,
it made him go to his downfall and his familys death. Since he made so many mistakes, the
losses that he got were at the same price range because he made a law that wasnt needed in the
world and just because of that he deserved the losses of his wife and son.
In conclusion, Creon was the tragic hero of the story Antigone because of his mistakes.
All of the losses that Creon had were meant to be because of the mistakes he made, mostly it was
that he never listened to anyone and that lean to his downfall for him and his kingdom. He was
the tragic hero of the story for all the mistakes he made.
