Unit Title: Impacts on careers and job prospects
Established Goals:

Students are able to identify the factors that impacted various careers within Australia.

Students are able to create a presentation to convey their opinions.

Understandings: Students will understand that


Careers within Australia have been impacted by factors
including education.

Essential Questions:
Will careers alter once again going into the future
How did job prospects come to what they are today
How do these changes impact on the students own individual
career and what they wish to do.

Students will know:


The Australian population seek careers in which the
individual will succeed which usually means earns them a
wage.
That perceptions of careers and part time work have altered
over the years.

Students will be able to:


Express their finding and thus understanding in a creative
way to their fellow class members.
Identify factors that impacted careers

Performance Tasks:

A presentation of some sort that is performed in


front of the class.
Includes a peer and self-evaluation as well as a
mark of some sort from the teacher.

Investigate different factors that have impacted careers within Australia.

Allow students to begin brainstorming their presentation

What makes an engaging performance

Show episode various clips of good and bad speeches, including iconic speeches that have conducted, i.e Martin
Luther King.

Have students perform their presentation
