Metaphor
A comparison not using like or as.
Ex. Her nest of hair was hard to brush.

Simile
A comparison using like or as.
Ex. She was as enchanting as a sorceress.

Onomatopoeia
Sound associated words.
Ex. Her stomach grumbled as it got closer to lunchtime.

End Rhyme
Words with the same sound at the end of a line.
Ex. I wonder how
There was a cow
That said wow

Alliteration
The same letter or sound at the beginning of consecutive words.
Ex. Loquacious Liza loved lollipops.
