OnetopicIlearnedinAlgebra2thatwasdifficultformetounderstandwaswhenwe
wereworkingontheFunctionsunit.Itwasdifficultformetounderstandhowtopluginthe
variablesandnumberscorrectlyintotheequations.Butdaysaftertheunitwascomingtoa
close,IseekedhelpfromElsainAcademicEnrichment.Iworkedonoldworksheetstheteacher
gavemeanddecidetostartfreshandbegintoworkontheproblems.Iwouldtrymybestto
conquertheequationsonestepatatime,butwhenElsabegantoseemestumbleandbeginto
giveup,shegavemethehelpIneededtounderstandhowtocompletethefourprocessesof
figuringouttheequation.Onceshehelpedmewiththefirstequation,everythingwasslowly
startingtokickinandIbeganrememberingtheclasseswhereMarilynhelpeduswithproblems
thatwereontheworksheetsasaclass.IwasabletotakenotesorasMarilynandTonycallit,
thoughtbubbles.Withthisprocessofwritinghowtodotheproblemsstepbystepwithgiven
examplesfromthetextbook,itwasveryhelpfulformetounderstandhowtoconquerthe
problems.Thisunitwasveryhardformetocomprehendinthebeginning,butwithMarilynand
Elsashelp,Iwasabletogetabetterunderstandingintheendoftheunit.Functionsunithas
definitelyshownmehowtonotgiveupwhenaunitisdifficult,anddontbeashamedtoaskfor
helpifyouneedit.
InAlgebra2,itwasveryhelpfultohavetheflippedclassroommodel.Thismodelwas
veryhelpfulformetounderstandalltheconceptsandunitsthatwerearisinginAlgebra2
throughouttheyear.IfIdidntunderstandavideo,IwasabletoreplayitasmanytimesasI
neededtoinordertograspwhatthenextdayofclasswasgoingtobeabout.Itwashelpfulto
getstepbystepinstructionsonhowtodotheproblemsthatwereverysimilartotheworksheets
thatweweregiveninclass.Also,itwasanamazingmodelthathelpedmerefreshmymindand
createstudybuddieswhentestswerecomingup.Overall,Imavisuallearneranditwasvery
convenientandagreatresourceformeinAlgebra2.
