Richard Avedon

Avedon says that his interest for photography sparked when he say a bald man
with a camera posing a very beautiful woman against a tree.

Avedon attended the New School for Social Research in New York City to study
photography under Alexey Brodovitch, Avedon and Brodovitch became really
close friends, and within one year Avedon was hired as a staff photographer for
the magazine

Avedon was also well known for his portraiture. He took black-and-white
portraits , he captured the humanity and vulnerability lurking in such larger-thanlife figures

Some of Avedon best known portraits were with President Dwight D. Eisenhower,
Marilyn Monroe, Bob Dylan and The Beatles

These photographs impact society by showing the innocence in every one of his
pictures because of the angles and filters that he put on them

Reflection
The reason why I choose this photographer is because I like the way that
Avedon takes his pictures. I like the way that he adjusts the people in the
photos so that not one photo looks the same. Also, the way that he puts all his
photos in black and white makes the viewer able to see more of the scenery in
the photo.
