Unaoil's Iraq manager says the real reason he wants to establish contact with Ahmed al-Jibouri is to get to his "best pal Kareem Leaby," referring to an Iraqi official who worked in the oil ministry at the time and would later become the Oil Minister.

Our AA9Q@0-12 was disappointing the first time round.
We screamed foul that the station was not prefarming properly.
And requested they halt tests before the sample drums get consumed.
The essence of the story we wanted Mr. Bassim to supervise the test himself.
Since he is acting as Ops. Manager he cannot get to the field. But promised by Wed
nesday he will go to S. Rumaila re-start the test and observe the results.
Chemic got an extension to deliver their sample. and we know there are 2@ drums on
the way from them. This is where we have to stay sharp and maintain 1 or 2 ppm poi
nts below Chemic under all circumstance.
The key to all this is meeting Lighthouse asap.
Unless Chemic new sample gives outstanding ppm, I expect we will share the 30K dru
ms with Chemic on 15K each. Which is still good. But without sorting it out with L
ighthouse now we will struggle later.
I am in daily contact with Lighthouse, he is in Baghdad at Prime Ministers office
all this week signing BP/NCPC concession. He said to stay on stand-by and be ready
to meet in Kuwait at short notice. So in Dubai waiting.
But I have meeting with AlBalid/Ahsan in Istanbul on 14th/15th August. So I may ha
ve to go there first and come back to Kuwait when Lighthouse is ready.
Also, I have established contact with Mr. Ahmed Jabouri of Chemic when I was in Am
man.
Unfortunately he was in Istanbul and couldn't meet him. He will return Amman later
this week. So I may make a detour to Amman to see him before going to Istanbul.
I think it's important we get aligned with Chemic and talk instead of bashing our
heads together for little benefit. My real purpose is getting access to Ahmed's be
st pal Kareem Leaby at the Ministry. Outside Chemicals, Ahmed has no interest. We
have, and if handled correctly, Ahmed can be put to good use.
It's a lot of travel, and I feel like a cockle-shot at the moment, but Iraqi's hav
e restriction in Travel and I am obliged to go see them where and when I can.
But well done on getting an extra $48 per drum. This was beyond my wildest dreams,
and gives me that extra incentive to go after the next 15K drums.
FYI
