In the past, large parts of Europe were covered by ice during the Ice Age. If climate change continues, problems like rising sea levels submerging islands and coastal areas, increased droughts reducing crops in equatorial regions, and melting glaciers could occur. Deforestation, mainly through burning forests to clear land for farming, releases large amounts of greenhouse gases and contributes to climate change. As a result of climate change, natural disasters like floods and tornadoes have increased in frequency and severity across countries like Ireland, the USA, and Germany.

    What is it ?

    Climate change is when there is a change in global or regional climate


    patterns it is most possibly caused be the release of harmful gases into
    the atmosphere.

    It changed numerous times over history for example during the Ice Age
    large parts of Europe where covered by ice

    Climate Change in History

    River Thames in London used to be completely frozen in winter the ice


    was so thick that loaded carriages could be driven over it and people
    even held fairs.

    Even the seas used to freeze completely in 1658 the Swedish Army
    marched through the frozen sea to surprise the Danes

    The cold weather in the past lead to several famines in countries such
    as France and Norway.

    Iceland was once cut off form the rest of the world because the sea
    around it froze. Nobody could get in or out.

    Climate Change

    The world in continuously heating up if such ways continue in the future


    following problems can come up:

    The level of sea will rise which can lead up to covering some of islands
    and part of continents

    Droughts: especially in countries near the equator the rainfall will


    decrease meaning that people will be lacking crops to eat

    Glaciers are melting down in all the mountains

    Deforestation

    Deforestation is the chopping down of trees.

    The causes are logging down of trees, commercial farming and


    subsistence farming this being the main cause.

    Rainforests are mainly affected, the people use the land as farmland for
    crops to eat and sell.

    Chopping down a forest with an axe takes a longer time so it is easier


    just to burn the forest down. This is releasing lots greenhouse gases.

    Climate Change

    Climate change is also causing lot of natural disasters such as floods


    and tornados.

    Even Ireland suffered of floods because of the Climate changed they


    also appeared in countries such as USA and Germany

    The huge fires in USA are also caused by the climate change due to the
    lack of rain.

    How to care for enviornment

    Use renewable energy such as wind, solar and wave instead of gas etc.

    Dont use the plane as much because it leaves harmful gases in the air

    Change light bulbs to LEDs, unplug all electronics when they are not
    used

    Recycle your home's waste

    Purchase an car working on electricity
