Wyman Supports Lembo for State Comptroller

Hartford, CT – Healthcare Advocate Kevin Lembo today announced he has the

support of Nancy Wyman as he seeks the nomination for State Comptroller.
Wyman announced this week that she will seek the Lieutenant Governor’s post
at the Democratic State Convention on May 22nd.

Wyman, who has served 16 years as the state’s fiscal guardian, said she
believes that Lembo’s experience as an Assistant State Comptroller in her office,
and most recently as the state’s Healthcare Advocate, make him an ideal
candidate to serve in the office that oversees the state’s budget.

“I have worked closely with Kevin for more than a decade, and I have enormous
respect for his commitment to the state, his understanding of the issues, and his
intellectual honesty.” Wyman said. “I am proud to support him.”

Lembo, a Guilford resident, formed a statewide exploratory committee in

December and had been working toward a run for Lieutenant Governor before
announcing this week that he will seek the office of State Comptroller.

Lembo served as an Assistant State Comptroller from 1998 to 2004, where he

worked on the state budget, and the state employee & retiree benefit plan. The
state Healthcare Advocate since 2004, Lembo is a Toll Fellow of the Council of
State Governments, and holds a Master of Public Administration degree from
California State University.
