    SCIENCE

    IMPORTANT NEWS
    1. Book projects are due Monday!
    2. Father/Daughter dance is scheduled for Saturday May 21 from 6:308:00pm
    3. There will be NO SCHOOL Friday May 27th due to having no snow days this
    year. Enjoy the long Memorial Day weekend.
    4. We will be finishing up our units for science and social studies next week. In
    doing so, we have a science test on Monday and a social studies test on Wednesday. Reviews have been sent home for both.
    5. Our last day of school is June 3rd. We will end our year with chapel and dismissal is at 10:30am. Please feel free to join us for chapel that day.
    6. 4k2nd grade will be attending a field trip next Thursday the 26th. We will be
    going to the zoo and a park in the afternoon for an animal show and lunch.
    7. Mark your calendars! 1st and 2nd grade teachers would like to thank you for a
    wonderful year. Join us on Wednesday June, 1 from 4-6 at Uno's for happy hour
    and snacks. Feel free to stop by for a little bit!

    To end the year, we are


    studying the fruits of the
    spirit. So far, we have
    learned about love, joy and
    patience.

    MATH
    This week we learned how
    to count back change from
    one dollar, divide a set of
    objects into two groups,
    how to find area of larger
    objects without color tiles,
    and learned the multiplication table.
    STAR OF THE WEEK:
    LAIKEN

    This week we ended our


    plant unit by reviewing
    photosynthesis and the
    jobs each part of the plant.
    We will have a science test
    next Monday.
    SOCIAL STUDIES
    This week we reviewed the
    branches of government
    and their main jobs. We
    then began talking about
    our nations symbols, focusing on monuments and
    memorials.
    READING/WRITING
    We are on our final writing
    unit for the year, which is
    informative writing. This
    week we have been working hard to type our final
    drafts!
    ART
    We learned how to draw a
    bald eagle as we have been
    learning about our nations
    symbols!
