Abstract
The capacitor voltage feedback active damping control is an
attractive way to suppress LCL-filter resonance especially for the
systems

where

the

capacitor

voltage

is

used

for

grid

synchronization, since no extra sensors are added.

The derivative is the core of the capacitor voltage feedback active
damping control.
To overcome these drawbacks, this project proposes a new
derivative method based on Second-Order Generalized Integrator.

Introduction
Several techniques has been developed to connect RES to Grid. In this project RES is connected

to Grid by using SOGI based Capacitor Voltage Feedback Active Damping in LCL Filter.
LCL-filter has widely been used in the VSC applications due to its improved attenuation of

switching harmonics, reduced overall size and cost, when compared with the other filters.
A straightforward method to suppress the LCL-filter resonance is to insert

resistors into the filter network, which is simple and effective. But this
passive solution leads to power losses and may compromise the highfrequency attenuation factor of the filter.
To overcome this drawback, the alternative active damping (AD) technique

can be considered, whose basic idea is to use a virtual resistor to mimic the
physical one.

Title Justification
We have many Grid inter-connection issues,
i.
Frequency
ii. Phase Angle Difference
iii. Magnitude
.
In this project DC is converted into AC voltage with magnitude, phase angle &
frequency which is called an Inverter.
.
The output from the inverter will be connected to the Grid. But, The inverter is
generating harmonics into the grid.
.
In order to eliminate Harmonics, an LCL filter is used in between the grid and the
converter. But, producing noise & resonance in the sinusoidal output. A Capacitor
voltage feedback is used for the controller to produce gating pulses to an inverter.
.
The process of eliminating noise and resonance from the sinusoidal output is called
Active Damping.
.
SOGI is an adaptive filter that is used to provide the derivative based damping effect.

Grid synchronization is done effectively with

our proposed project.
