Fiqh Of Tahaarah

Al-Hamdulillaah (Praise be to Allaah) and may Allaah's Peace and Blessings be showered
on the Messengers of Allaah, their families, their companions and on all who follow their
path until the Last Day.
Islaam is the religion of purity; the religion of the best behaviour and noblest of
manners. It stresses and clarifies whatever issues Muslims may need, and whatever
principles that may rectify their lives. There is nothing that benefits Muslims unless it is
stated, stressed and enjoined in Islaam.
There are some deeds in Islaam which Muslims are prohibited to perform unless they
are in a state of purity, due to the greatness and the loftiness of these deeds. For
example: Salaat.
Salaat is the second pillar of Islaam, after the Shahaadah. It is what distinguishes
Muslims from disbelievers: Jaabir ibn Abdullaah (may Allaah be pleased with him) said:
I heard the Messenger of Allaah (peace be upon him) say, Between a man and Shirk
(associating partners with Allaah) and Kufr there stands his giving up the
Salaat. [Saheeh Muslim, Volume 1, Book 1, Hadeeth Number 247, p. 170 171]
It is the cornerstone of Islaam, and it is the fist thing one is questioned about when
called to account on the Day of Judgment. It was narrated from Aboo Hurayrah (may
Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, The first thing
for which a person will be brought to account on the Day of Resurrection will be his
Salaah... [Sunan an Nasaa'ee, Volume 1, Book 5, Hadeeth Number 467, p. 279 280,
classed as Saheeh by Haafiz Aboo Taahir Zubayr Alee Zai]
Salaat is not deemed valid unless the one performing it is in a state of purity. Jaabir ibn
Abdullaah (may Allaah be pleased with him) narrated that Allaahs Messenger (peace be
upon him) said, They key to Paradise is Salaat, and the key to Salaat is
Wudoo. [Sunan Ibn Maajah, Volume 1, Book 1, Hadeeth Number 4, p. 36, classed
as Hasan (good) by Haafiz Aboo Taahir Zubayr Alee Zai]
The purpose of this course is to teach the Fiqh of Purification (Tahaarah) in the light of
the Quraan and the authentic Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
