Mr. Aaron J. Rivera
Director, Financial Department
Penguin Random House
1745 Broadway Street
New York, NY 10019
Dear Mr. Rivera:
After viewing your opening that was posted May 3rd for an entry level
financial analyst on your careers section of the Penguin Random House
website, I had to respond as quickly as I could because your company is a
highly respectable company in your field and I know many great authors
have left their mark there and I want to help continue your ever-lasting
legacy in the book publishing field.
In your posting in the job it says that you need someone who can
improve financial status by analyzing results; monitoring variances,
identifying trends and recommending actions to management. I believe
that I can fulfill that need due to my background of interning at an the
Kellogg & Andelsen accountancy firm helped me observe the financials
and gave me a broader understanding of costs, profits, and budgeting.
After working in the firm I was able to secure a spot in my Senior
Leadership Council in high school as the treasurer where I had been able
to make use of budgeting and was able to make well-thought decisions to
maximize profits.
I have also furthered my education at California State University,
Northridge as a finance major in attempt to further understand the what I
should be on the look out for in data and what actions can be taken. I
believe that my prior retail experience at Designer Shoe Warehouse in
Northridge will allow me to put our clients first and understand what their
primary goals are and what I can do to make sure to put them on the right
track in terms of marketing budget, what are ideal profit margin would be,
and what cost-effective strategies we must take based on past
occurrences.
I have taken the liberty of attaching my resume so you can see further
details on my qualifications. I can be reached at (818) 222-333 so we can
further discuss a possibility of allowing myself to apply my past
experiences as a treasurer, intern at the aforementioned accountancy firm
and my undergraduate studies to increase success at Penguin Random

House by connecting better with our clients and my ability to capture

details others would normally miss.
Sincerely,
Alberto Zamudio
