UPPER ARLINGTON HIGH SCHOOL

1650 Ridgeview Road | Upper Arlington, Ohio 43221 | (614) 487-5200

To Whom It May Concern:

It is with a heavy heart that I write this letter of recommendation for Corey Aumiller, who is currently an
art teacher at Upper Arlington High School. Corey has been filling in for a teacher on leave and we are,
unfortunately, not able to keep him on staff. I wish we could keep him as a Golden Bear; however, any
school would be lucky to have Corey serving their students.
First and foremost, Corey is a true professional. Whether he is working collaboratively with a colleague
or assisting a student, Corey is 100 percent committed to student learning. Coreys classroom is built
upon respect with a focus on learning. From the start of the school year through the end, Corey builds and
maintains a positive rapport with his students. This is accomplished through formal and informal
conversations he has with his students and through his willingness to be flexible and work with his
students when they struggle.
Corey is not only an asset in the classroom, but also an asset to the entire building. Corey is a kidmagnet, and truly cares about the wellbeing of all the students at Upper Arlington High School. He has
volunteered his time to engage students in Principals Advisory to help strengthen relationships in the
building. He has created a new art course that has had an overwhelmingly positive response in requests.
Additionally, Corey has taken the difficult duty of attendance follow-up and made it a positive experience
by building relationships with staff members and the students with whom he must follow up.
Corey is an accomplished filmmaker, winning best film and best directing honors in the German film
festival. With his guidance, Coreys students have received many accolades as well. Through Coreys
teaching, he helped a student earn a Gold Key Scholastic award, a student earn a top 25 Ohio Governors
Youth Art Exhibition, and seven students earn a top 300 award.
Corey is currently faced with an unfortunate situation regarding his employment, but through this time,
Corey has remained positive and focused on his students, which speaks volumes of his character.
Knowing what I know about Corey as a person and a professional, it is my belief that he would be an
asset to any school district.

Sincerely,

Andrew C. Theado
Principal
