What Is Global Climate

Change?
A change in global or
regional climate patterns,
in particular a change
apparent from the mid to
late 20th century onwards
and attributed largely to
the increased levels of
atmospheric carbon dioxide
produced by the use of
fossil fuel
Temperatures will
rise
More droughts and
heat waves
Hurricanes will
becomes stronger
Sea levels will rise
Ice structures will
melt
Climates will
intensify (more snow in
snowier areas, more heat
in hotter areas ect.)

Proposed Solutions/What Can

Someone Do?
Examples of some agencies:
NASA makes detailed
climate data available to the
global community.
President Obamas
Climate Action Plan

GLOBAL
CLIMATE
CHANGE

What can you do?:

Reduce, reuse, recycle.
Use "green" technology.
For example:
Energy sources from the
wind or sun.
For example:
Hybrid cars.
Use water efficiently.
Save electricity.
Plant trees.
Spread the word!
...and more

Hans Quiogue
Cameron Tripp

Environmental Refugees
l migrants forced to
move due to changes in
their environments
Typically related to at
least one of three impacts
of climate change: sea-level
rise, extreme weather
events, and drought and
water scarcity
Small, oceanic
countries, such as Tuvalu,
are seeing the first hand
effects of climate change as
their land is being swept up
by the ocean and buildings
destroyed by strong winds
These migrants do
not have the same rights to
the countries they migrate
to

Political Aspects Of Global

Climate Change
The Senate has voted that
human activity does not
contribute to global climate
change
Some politicians still claim
that climate change is a hoax,
which it is not
Recent meetings, such as
the United Nations Climate
Change Conference have
established goals for countries to
decrease their carbon footprint

How Climate Change affects

species
An estimated 50,000
species are lost each year
due to climate change
Habitat loss and
deforestation not only
affect species but also the
environment as less trees
means that less CO2 can be
absorbed
Warming oceans
temperatures along with
overfishing and tourism
have devastated oceanic
communities and coral
reefs
