5.

1 This lessons purpose was to assess students level of

knowledge and understanding to conclude a mathematics unit of
work. It demonstrates my ability to assess student learning and
achievement.

5.1 The underlined sections of this written feedback highlight my

ability to assess student learning through utilising a variety of
strategies that help highlight student ability and understanding
of the content.

5.2 This section of my lessons feedback report demonstrates my

understanding and capability of providing appropriate feedback
to students when appropriate.

5.1, 5.3, 5.4 & 5.5 This is a formal record sheet of student
achievement, assessing the students work samples from the
same mathematics lesson that the above feedback is reviewing.
Once I had analysed the assessment work samples produced by
the students, I assessed their demonstration of skill and
understanding against a pre-determined assessment rubric. The
rubric described three levels of accomplishment (L = low/below
standard, M = middle/at standard, H = high/above standard) for
each assessment area and I graded the students accordingly.
Using an assessment rubric ensured that my marks were
accurate and consistent. Recording students final marks in this
way allowed for easy comparable judgements to be made and
additional notes necessary for future planning. By assessing and
recording student learning in this way I have also demonstrated
my recognition of the importance of keeping accurate and
reliable records that can be easily referred to when reporting
student achievement to the students and parents/carers.
