contemeorary press CONTACT: Shawyonia Pettigrew Publicist (718)807-5986 shpettigrew@vahoo.com Contemporary Press is proud to announce the release of Mike Segretto's third novel The Bride of Trash, terrorizing bookstores in December 2005. In 2003, Contemporary Press published Segretto’s first novel Dead Dog. He followed his traler-trash noir debut with a loose sequel in 2004, How to Smash Everyone to Pieces, a psycho road novel about a gleeful lesbian serial killer, proved to be even darker, funnier, and more demented than its predecessor. However, Segretto has truly outdone himself with his latest novel. In The Bride of Trash, delusional good ol” boy Wizzer Whale finds himself in a peculiar predicament after he falls in love with a voluptuous corpse. Strangely, that's not even the problem! The problem is that after the corpse becomes reanimated by an ancient curse, it displays a distressing taste for blood. Before long, Wizzer and his ‘monstrous bride are being pursued by a raging mob, a pair of bumbling hoods, and a homicidally jealous puppet. In The Bride of Trash, Mike Segretto mixes violence, laughs, and horror to perfection. This ultra-campy tale of terror and bad taste will keep readers gasping, “What the hell?” while frantically turning each page. Segretto is currently working on a new book in collaboration with Jeffrey Dinsmore and Jess Dukes who also write for Contemporary Press. He will be participating in a series of readings to promote The Bride of Trash, which is currently available for review.
