Tourtsin is a part of many cities’ economy, and for some cities, regions, or states, tourism may be one of ‘the largest pats of thelr economy. Its important for people to be able to identity how big a role tourism plays ina local economy. If the company can provide evidence of how many jobs this resort will bring in, they will more likely fo be able to convince the townspeople that itis a good idea to build the resort there. All ofthese scenarios require a report called an economic impact analysis, There are many different types of analysis reports, but they each answer one or more of these questions: + How much do tourists spend in the area? + Whats their average length of stay? How many people are in their group? ‘+ What portion of sales by local businesses is due to tourisin? ‘+ How much income does tourism generate for households and businesses in the area? + How many jabs inthe area does tourism support?” + How much tax revenue is generated from tourism?
