MAJOR FIELD TRIP REFLECTION

It is 4:30 in the morning of March 15, 2016 when the seminars and field
trip class of 2016 gathered at the St. Vincent (SV) gate to prepare and to
distribute the batch shirt and jacket. Upon 30 minutes of waiting, the bus
that the students are about to ride had finally arrived. The trip has been
executed with the aid of the Alpha Venice Tours and Travels. At exactly 5:30
a.m. the bus had departed from Adamson University, the trip had started
with an opening prayer to ask for guidance and protection to our lord. The
trip had been more exciting with the help of Kuya JR, our bus tour guide, at
every destination or landmarks that we passed through he always give facts
and information while letting us participate in the discussion. At exactly 7:30
a.m. the bus had arrived at the NLEX pit stop, wherein we had taken our
breakfast because we have a long way to go yet. The tour manager Mr.
Venancio Cabugos had given us a 30 minute break to eat before proceeding
to our first destination. At exactly 8:00 a.m. our bus had departed to go to
our first destination which is the Voice of America. Voice of America (VOA)
is an American based company here in the Philippines that serve as a relay
station or a back-up station to re-transmit the broadcasted data coming from
the US. Voice of America is located in Tarlac. Upon arriving at the Voice of
America at exactly 9:30 a.m. we have been oriented first by Mr. Miguel
Mike C. Manolito, a supervisor in the Voice of America. Mr. Manolito had
oriented us before and after entering the vicinity and what must be the
safety precautions to avoid accidents. After orientation, our class had been
divided to two groups for our group we have been assisted by Ms. Lina

Mendoza, an employee of VOA, she had taught us the different equipment

that they are using starting from the Generators up to the Transmitter stage.
Ms. Mendoza had also shared her knowledge and experiences in his work at
VOA. Our group had also encountered different equipment within the area
that are really fascinating, one example is the Mega Ohmmeter (Megger)
where we have experienced being electrocuted with 1 kilovolts but low
amperage, we have also encountered the a copper room used for eliminating
mobile signals surrounding it. They use it for testing components too. Our
tour within VOA has been really exciting yet we have acquired many
knowledge particularly once we have enter the field of work. After 2 -3 hours
of tour, we have departed from VOA at exactly 12:00 n.n.

After reaching Tarlac, our bus had to return to Subic, Pampanga

because our next destination would be located within Subic area and also

because we to take our lunch there also. At exactly 1:00 p.m. we had taken
our buffet lunch at Hollys we have enjoyed the food very much.

After eating lunch, we have proceeded to our next destination, the Civil
Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) and the Philippine
Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Sciences Administration
(PAG ASA). Our bus had arrived there late making our next destination
which is the One Subic Power Plant not available for visit therefore
treating the CAAP and PAG ASA as our last destination. Upon arriving at the
CAAP and PAG ASA which are both within the same vicinity, we have been
taught lectures about navigational aids within CAAP while we have been
taught how they update crafts about the weather in PAG ASA the lecture
had lasted for almost one hour. And at exactly 5:00 p.m. we had departed
from CAAP and PAG ASA.
Before we directly proceed to Adamson, Mr. Cabugos had given us
ample time to shop for souvenirs at Puregold Duty Free in Subic and after

that we have proceed to take our buffet dinner at Buffet 168 at Pampanga.
And after a very long trip. We had arrived at Adamson University at exactly
11:00 p.m.
