to identify the global meaning of a message


to teach vocabulary associated with shopping
to talk about shopping in a corner shop compared to a department
store

MATERIALS: textbook, whiteboard, tape recorder, flipchart

POSSIBLE DRAWBACKS:
- Ss may find it difficult to understand the whole message of the text just
listening to it
- Ss may have some problems in understanding the new words
- Ss may find it difficult to contrast the two types of shops: corner shop,
department store

T asks Ss to look at the images in the book (page

T writes some types of shops on the whiteboard
and Ss have to say what one could find in these
shops. Ss also have to come up with some other

T will ask the Ss to divide into two groups:


- one group will write in their notebooks

and disadvantages of shopping in a department
