1. Single phase full bridge inverter

Consider the problem of ripple in the output current of a single-phase full-bridge inverter.
Assume Vo1=220V at frequency of 47Hz and the type of load is as shown in Figure 1 with
L=100mH. The inverter is operating in a sinusoidal PWM mode, with mf=21 and ma=0.8.
Assume bipolar voltage switching.

2. DC-DC converters
In a step down converter, consider all components to be ideal.
a) Sketch the step down converter
b) Sketch the waveform for the continuous-conduction mode of the inductor current and
voltage.
c) Which is the condition for discontinuous mode converter operation?
d) Let vO= VO be held constant at 5 V by controlling the switch duty ratio D. Calculate the
minimum L required to keep the converter operation in a continuous-conduction mode
under all conditions if Vd is 10-40 V, Po5W and fs=50kHz.
In a step up converter, consider all components to be ideal.
a) Sketch the step down converter
b) Sketch the waveform for the continuous-conduction mode of the inductor current and
voltage.
c) Which is the condition for discontinuous mode converter operation?
